CAPELINHOS Book Presentation Trip Report Tony Goulart and his wife Judy spent the month of September representing the PHPC at the Capelinhos 50th anniversary celebrations and other related activities in the Azores and on the East Coast. Every event was well attended and both the Capelinhos Book and the Whaler's Book were welcomed with enthusiasm. The committees who arranged the events did a tremendous job making every presentation very professional and well organized, with attentive audiences who appreciated the effort that went into producing the books, as well as the fine quality of the finished products. | |||||||||

PHPC wishes to thank every one involved, The Government of the Azores, the office of the Director of Communities, The Capelinohos 50th Anniversary Committee, The New Bedford Whaling Museum, Casa dos Azores, and all of the organizations which contributed to making this trip a huge success. Tony was welcomed warmly and accorded the highest respect as an honored guest the entire trip. The executive committee of the PHPC is very appreciative for this demonstration of respect and offers our humble wholehearted thank you from all of us. Milestone: The Holy Ghost Festas book has sold out. We made two printings and distributed over 6200 books of our first publication. A very successful book, congratulations to all involved! Already, we are getting requests for this book, but sorry its gone. Recommendation: Look for a used copy on Amazon or EBay. | |||||||||
