Ozoria Family History (PDF, 48M)
The amazing story of Bernabe “Barney” Ozoria, 1878-1915, will take you back to immigrant life in early California. “Bernaby” immigrated from Portugal, possibly from the Azores Islands (the name Ozoria is thought to mean “of the Azores”) to Mexico. After marrying Francisca Rivera-Ozoria, 1888-1963, he immigrated once again (perhaps illegally) to California. Bernaby’s diary reflects the hard work, sacrifice, and the happiness of his life in California. The wonderful research carried out by Carlena Keenan Carranza, through Helen Ozoria, aged 99 and a resident of San Diego, California, brings to life Bernaby’s odyssey and that of his progeny. Take the time to read, ponder and appreciate the Ozorias’ homage to their patriarch..
